Overview
OpenFeedback is a full-stack anonymous messaging platform. Every user gets a personal public link — anyone with that link can send messages without an account or revealed identity. A private dashboard lets the owner view all received messages, toggle acceptance on or off, and browse AI-generated conversation starters to share with their audience.
Problem Statement
Existing anonymous messaging tools are closed platforms that require senders to hold accounts too. There is no simple, self-hostable solution where a developer owns their data, can pause incoming messages instantly, and has AI assistance to make the experience more engaging.
Proposed Solution
A two-sided Next.js architecture: a private authenticated dashboard for receivers and a fully public sender page that needs zero login. Email OTP verification via Resend prevents fake accounts. A real-time username availability check improves onboarding. A Groq-powered AI endpoint streams conversation starter suggestions so senders always have an easy first message.
Key Outcomes
Covers the complete authentication lifecycle — email OTP, JWT session management, protected routes, and a public-facing page — in a single cohesive project. Demonstrates production-ready form validation with Zod and React Hook Form and AI streaming integration.
